Office-bearers of the state Congress are all set to join their colleagues from across the country in Delhi on Sunday in a preparation bid for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Besides the district (DCC) and block (BCC) presidents,CLP leaders,chief ministers,heads of the departments of various state-level cells of the party,pradesh congress committee (PCC) presidents and other senior leaders will attend the National Convention of DCC and BCC presidents. Media Convener of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee,Pawan Jain,said that the one-day convention will be chaired by AICC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik at the Ram Lila Ground,New Delhi. It will be addressed by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. AICC treasurer and Haryana Congress party affairs in-charge Motilal Vora,HPCC President Phool Chand Mullana and working President of the HPCC,Kuldeep Sharma,will also be present at the national convention. As many as 137 block Congress presidents,31 district Congress presidents and heads of 16 departments of the party in Haryana will be among the 15,000 delegates from all over the country, said Jain. Entry without valid passes will be barred. The HPCC is in the process of preparing photo identity passes for the delegates attending the programme,said Mullana. Meanwhile,the first meeting of the partys State Election Campaign Committee,headed by former minister Venod Sharma,is likely to be held on February 12 or 13 in Chandigarh to discuss the plan for the Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was postponed from February 3 due to the death of veteran leader Ranbir Singh Hooda.
