The Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) on Tuesday demanded that the industry in the state be given better infrastructural support. In a press conference held here, HCCI president Pankaj Kapoor said that a memorandum with the demands has been presented to the Haryana financial commissioner and principal secretaryY S Malik.
The memorandum by HCCI has highlighted a several issues relating to criteria for selection of National Awards in the Industry, criteria for participants in Indian Trade Fair and rehabilitation of sick MSME units in the state. The numerous threats to functioning and existence of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) have become an issue of concern, states the memorandum.
The memorandum also requested that the Haryana's investment policy should make a mention about the technical textile industry and the entire industry is engaged in litigation at the moment for the interpretation of the circulars.
"All the industries are in very bad shape hence they need to pressurise the banks to give money to sick units at low rate of interest" said Pankaj Kapoor. Whether it is drinking water or sewerage connection in new industrial areas, there is no infrastructural support, he added.
The HCCI wants the state government to follow the model in the textile town of Tirupur in Tamil Nadu.
