The Allahabad High Court on Friday banned production, sale and use of all types of polythene in Allahabad district as a measure of curbing the menace of pollution. The court's order came while it was hearing a PIL related to abatement of pollution in Ganga river. Hearing the PIL, the court also directed that all roads that are are being widened in the city will have foothpath.
