  • A division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Tuesday stayed the order of a single Bench which had put off the announcement of the Indian Panorama for the next edition of the International Film Festival of India.

The Bench, comprising Chief Justice S R Bannurmath and K M Basheer, posted the case for further hearing on November 11. The review petition moved by the festival directorate said the stay of the single bench had dented IFFI’s credibility. To a directive of the single Bench of Justice P N Raveendran to produce all documents related to the selection of the Indian Panorama, Additional Solicitor-General T P A Ibrahim Khan said the jury finalised the list after deliberations among the members. The directorate feared that the order would hit the conduction of the festival slated to begin on November 23 in Goa and thus sought lifting of the stay.

Last month, the single Bench had stayed publicising the Indian Panorama after director Ranjith moved a petition, alleging that a jury member had leaked out the list on a website even before it was officially announced.
