The Allahabad High Court on Friday issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) after hearing a petition alleging anomalies in the multiple-choice question (MCQ) paper set for some of the subjects in the PCS exam,2010.
A division bench comprising Justices Sunil Ambwani and Sabhajeet Yadav issued notices to the UPPSC and also to the state government directing them to file their reply by July 16.
The court was hearing a petition filed by Sanjay Mishra and four others. The petitioners had alleged the answer choices in quite a number of questions in the papers for sociology,history and general studies were wrong. This had an impact on the results of the candidates who had opted for these papers in the exam,the petitioners alleged. The results for these exams were declared on June 1. Of the 1.29 lakh aspirants who had applied for these exams,more than 89,000 had appeared for a total of 245 posts. Of these,more than 600 aspirants had qualified for the mains examination.
A couple of other petitions alleging various anomalies in the exams have already been filed in connection with the exams under question.
