  • The Delhi High Court on Friday declined to stay proceedings against former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh and his son Jagat Singh before Enforcement Directorate for alleged irregularities in Iraqi oil-for-food scam.

Justice B D Ahmed said the father-son duo should appear before the adjudicating authority on Monday. “After that I will take up the case,” he said. The court also sought a reply from the Directorate within a week following a petition by the Singhs for access to official documents brought back by India’s Special Envoy Virender Dayal from the US. Natwar’s counsel Arvind Nigam alleged the authorities have not provided them those documents which the government had not relied upon while initiating the inquiry.
