The story centers around Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin),a copywriter. Unlucky in love, she seeks advice from her equally-ineffectual co-workers Janine (Jennifer Connelly) and Beth (Jennifer Aniston). The former is in a sexless marriage with her music industry professional husband Ben (Bradley Cooper) who is bedding a wannabe singer Anna (Scarlett Johansson). And Beth can’t get her live-in partner of seven years,Neil (Ben Affleck),to commit to some form of nuptials. While Janine and Beth seek help from their friend, editor Mary (Drew Barrymore),Gigi develops a platonic bond with a bar manager Alex (Justin Long),with whose help,Gigi hopes to find Mr. Right…

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Director Ken Kwapis is certainly inept at handling women-specific material. He makes them look like caricatures. If at all the film doesn’t fall into a pit it’s because of the actors led by Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore. The rest of the film is quite average and predictable.

Verdict
One star for performances. One for script.
