A team of the health department collected five water samples from New Subhash Nagar near Rahon Road and Bal Singh Nagar as the residents of the area had been complaining for a faulty water supply by the Municipal Corporation. Dr SS Dhir, distirct health officer, said the samples had been sent for laboratory tests at PAU. “The residents of the area had been complaining that the water supplied by MC was not safe and therefore we sent a team there to collect water samples and check the water quality,” said Dr Dhir.
The health teams also checked levels of hygiene at a few dhabas along the railway station. He said the department would act sternly against those not keeping proper hygienic at the restaurants and dhabas.
