Heat wave claims one in Kolkata

Even as the Met office expects thundershowers or a light drizzle in the next 48 hours,the ensuing heat wave has claimed another life in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Even as the Met office expects thundershowers or a light drizzle in the next 48 hours,the ensuing heat wave has claimed another life in Kolkata on Tuesday. Bikas Chakraborty,a 38-year-old rickshaw-puller,died after suffering a heat stroke at Kamardanga in Howrah. Chakraborty was a resident of Jhikira in Howrah. Other rickshaw-pullers tried to help him by sprinkling water on his face,but he fell unconscious and died later. Police were immediately informed who in turn called a local doctor. Chakraborty’s body has been sent for an autopsy.
