Another call was received from a senior citizen suggesting that the name and details of the complainant must not be revealed by the police department. "A senior citizen called saying he was calling to give a suggestion. He said that he himself was a retired police officer," the DSP said.
Earlier, the IG had said, "This number has been added so that a person in distress need not know the personal number of the officer on duty on a particular day. Whichever officer will be on duty can be reached by the residents on this common number."
