High achievers in maths honoured

MIM,an institute for promotion and advancement of the study of mathematics,today organised a ceremony to honour the students who have performed well in various examinations by scoring high marks in maths.

MIM,an institute for promotion and advancement of the study of mathematics,today organised a ceremony to honour the students who have performed well in various examinations by scoring high marks in maths.

The award of honour was given to Lakhvir Kaur,a post-graduate students of M.Sc (Maths),SCD Government College,who has cleared her UGC-CSIR and become the only student from the city to be called for an interview for Shyama Prasad Mukherjee fellowship.

She gave the credit of her success to Dr Virk who,she said,taught her maths in a most simplest manner. Others who were also honoured were Anurag Singh,NTSE scholar who made it to IIT-JEE,Preetinder who got selected by IISER for Ph,D and Pooja,Jatinder and Gaurav.

Speaking on the occasion,Reema Dhawan,chairperson of MIM,said,“There is nothing in the world that can be done without maths. Maths is there in every part of our life,right from the start of the day when we look at the clock,maths is at work.”

Dr Mohan Singh,director of MIM,said the institute has earned a name by imparting quality education which is proved by the results of UGC-NET (Maths). The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Loveneesh Garg,head of department of radiology,Apollo Hospitals,who spoke about his association with the institute.
