No entry for Virbhadra
Union Minister of Steel Virbhadra Singh was shocked to have not received a formal invitation for the international Kullu Dussehra festival. And he spelled out his anger in no uncertain terms during his visit to Kullu at the time of the festival. “I am the MP from Mandi Parliamentary constituency, under which Kullu falls. How can the administration not invite me,” he asked. “But he has been concentrating on Rohru (from where his wife is contesting the Assembly bypoll) so much these days that people forget that he is no longer an MLA from Rohru but Mandi’s MP,” an MLA remarked.

E-solution
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal seems to have grasped the techie’s jargon quite well for his age and generation. At the recent launch of the ‘SMS gateway’ for people to track the status of their file in various departments, the CM was asked how would it be made efficient since the mobile networks were already choked, he said, “Hum iska bhi e-samadhan nikalenge (we’ll find an e-solution for this too).”

Mum’s the word for Cong
The Vigilance has once again got active in cases of alleged corruption pertaining to ministers in the previous Congress government. This week, it was the turn of former industry minister Kuldeep Kumar, who faces charge of illegally occupying government land in Una and building a house on it. Former tourism Minister G S Bali is also in the dock for his alleged role in the Mumbai Musical Blast corruption case. However, the state Congress Committee is not reacting to these cases, in contrast to its military defence of former CM Virbhadra Singh.
