Hindutva, Hindustan

After the recent mauling in the 2009 general elections, the BJP-led NDA must read Napoleon Hill’s famous quotation: “Opportunity often comes disguised in the form of misfortune or temporary defeat.” A clean break from aggressive Hindutva would be a welcome point for the party to find ways of addressing the whole of India.

Adding Narendra Modi and Varun Gandhi into their leadership debate confused the campaign. Harping on the black money issue was never going to be a priority with the majority of the country’s poor, seeking immediate succour from their daily drudgery. A clamour to hang Afzal Guru immediately caused revulsion amongst most Indians: the Supreme Court’s verdict will be implemented sooner or later. With 30 million cases in backlog in the courts, legal reforms, hate crimes, the riot control act were issues confronting every citizen. If I may say so, the majority of Hindus have strong objections to such a blood-letting, divisive agenda.

In a country as diverse, multi-religious, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural as ours, the unique Indian identity will always prevail over a pan-Hindu matrix. Where every sixth Indian is a minority, leaving out the Muslim and not addressing his concerns will always confront the BJP in future elections. Inter-woven, intertwined with real India, the minority is inalienable just as Kashmir is inalienable.

The Vanniyars and Thevars in Tamil Nadu have more affinity with their Muslim neighbour in Arakkonam than with the Yadav farmer of Etah. The Nair graduate in Thrissur has had Christian and Muslim classmates from kindergarten. The Muslims of Bellary have lived cheek by jowl with the RSS-trained Yediyurappa family for generations and voted for his son in large numbers. Neither religion nor colour can separate the teeming millions who sweat and sow together in fields all over India.

... contd.

Re:BJP does not represent the Hindus.

My reply to respected person who used his name as "Indian-RSS , BJP and SNGH PARIVAR is anti national"My dear friend,World is not as bad as you think and the same way bjp/rss is not as bad as you think. I beg you to understand the logic of india and indian. Victims can tell better about pain than any one else. If people is following anything then there can be atleast 1% good things in it. People can even forget their grand grand father and your grand grand son will also forget you if you wont remember your part. Kindly ignore my word if you find it not suitable for it. sorry in advanceregardsNaveen Bhartiya
Politics means sticking to policies
Naveen Bhartiya | 03-Jun-2009

This is in the mind of the public that one is communalist when one utter "Jai Shri Ram". one must remember that ram does not mean to divide people rather than uniting india. division of any kind is bad whether in the name of religion, caste, color, wealth etc. Indian boys love to talk to girl with white complextion and they avoid girl with fair complextion. this is not divisive policy of indian youth. lalu, paswan, mulayam etc are talking about caste. Congress did not work on inclusiveness of all section of societies, religion and caste, that is the reason of the birth of many new boss of every section of society. Politics does not mean that one should always win. politics means sticking to policies. One can not change the policies after one or two defeat. work on the same policies with more dedication and it will certainly pay divident. People forget attrocities of christian and muslim in last 1000 years and they are talking of hinduism....
Hindutva, Hindustan, Militancy of any religion vis-a-vis Global Peace
J. A. Mansuri | 02-Jun-2009

Mentoring if it is with opium of clash of civilization instead of co-existence may not yield any result to any society of any part of globe whether Nagpur, Gujarat, Islamic Country/ies, Israel, USA or Europe.Activism of militancy from any religion needs to be introspected how to co-exist with peace, justice. If Taliban and Islamists are advancing, similarly, Jews and Hindus Militancy are advancing and co-operating with Zoinism and US World Order in the name of Islamphobia, creating issues of security and then supplying device and idealogy of hate Islam.
enemies advice bjp even if unsaked?what cunning?
nick | 02-Jun-2009

ha ha enemies of bjp ie muslims and seculars are advising bjp and if they take this advice they are idiots but idiot hindus are like that only.cowards and weak and poor, now they have to be stupid too.remeber sardesai hid parliament tape and the bjp idiots believed him.instaed of starting one channel during nda rule, they allowed these congress media to bash them on kandahar and gujaerat as if dd is not enoughmuslims, marxists, missionaries, media are the congress votebank umbrella.they will always vote gainst bjp and avoid development plank which bjp talked about eg swiss banks (but media hid that),and did too in it states unlike congress 60 yrs.all congress needs to do is energize muslims to turn out to vote and do nothing except arrest sadhvi and remind muslims of 2002 and varun and first claim and sachar.muslims care and vote religion.they dont believe in nation and the arab hawal money is enough for them.
Hindutva

The Congress succeeded in not allowing BJP to focus on its manifesto by constantly attacking it. The BJP leaders never spoke with one voice. They never spoke about their manifesto, but tried to score by raising and promising a new thing every day. BJP forgot that even if one repeats the same lie enough times, people will believe it. The Congress remembered this well and did it. BJP never kept harping on even one idea for longer than 3 days. One day it was black money, the other day nuclear deal, then weak Manmohan, then Ram mandir, then farmers, then highways, then economy, then energy, then this, then that. Which voter can remember all this? So voters thought BJP had no issues to raise. And not voted for BJP. In a good campaign, at the most 5 issues should be harped on, daily. Besides, BJP never made clear what profit would be there for Hindus if it came to power. Any party spells out to its voters (Hindus/Nationalists for the BJP mostly) what they will gain. BJP could not make clear what Hindus/Nationalists would gain if they voted for it. People expect something. BJP never made clear what they were offering. Even Ram Mandir was not serious: BJP wanted the court (which in coming 1000 years will not come with a solution) to come with a solution. How foolish to fool your own voters like that!
