Bhat is survived by a son, daughter and his wife and the trio has been helping one another to come out of the trauma that has been a part of their family life. His son Altaf Ahmed was then nine, and his daughter Shagufta was three years old when their father went missing.
"The two are now grown up and both of them are anxiously waiting for their father. His ailing mother is too pinning hope on his son's return even after sixteen years," says Ahmed.
