Mulayam Singh Yadav’s poster-boy is sulking. UP Minorities Welfare and Haj minister Haji Yaqub Qureshi, who announced a Rs 51-crore reward on the Danish cartoonist’s head, now thinks the UP Chief Minister has not done anything for the Muslim community.

‘‘The Mulayam government has done nothing concrete for Muslims.Akhbari report aur ghoshnao se kuch nahin hota,’’ he said.

Qureshi, whose letter of protest to Mulayam at being a powerless minister which was leaked out to the media, said: ‘‘There is a limit to patience.’’ He said he would not attend office unless he is allowed to act as an independent minister. He blamed his colleague and arch rival Mohd Azam Khan for his isolation.

Qureshi has a subtle warning for his chief. He says all parties have used Muslims as vote bank. The community would no longer be fooled and they would decide the future course of action at a rally of Muslim ulemas and intellectuals in Delhi on May 10.
