A clerk with the H K BBA College in Ahmedabad allegedly committed suicide on Saturday following harassment by the college authorities.
Dinesh Patel (34), a clerk with the HK BBA college, Navrangpura, reportedly jumped before a moving train and died on the tracks at Ambli Road station, said Railway Police officers.
Police added that the suicide note left by the deceased stated that he was harassed by the college authorities and he reportedly knew about donations and other malpractices carried out by the authorities in the college.
They stated that the deceased was reportedly under pressure. In his suicide note, Patel has held the
principal, the auditor, a senior clerk and five to six trustees responsible for his extreme step.
Vijay Chaudhary, Sub-Inspector (Railways), investigating the case, said: “Patel has stated in his note that he was mentally harassed by
the college trustees. He has also claimed that he knew about the trustees’ practice of taking donations and all other malpractices in the college. He has said in his note that this was one of the
reasons why he was harassed by them.”
Patel, who was with the college for last 10 years, was a resident of Arjun Towers in Ghatlodia.
Ashok Vaghela, a peon in the college and a close friend of Patel, said: “He (Patel) had sent a message asking me to collect a diary and a CD from his home. He had written a suicide note on the last page of the diary. He has mentioned the names of nine persons in the note. He has mentioned that the trustees are very corrupt and harass people in lower posts."
