The album has sold almost 1.3 million copies since the Grammys. Houston,who died on February 11,a day before the function,has eight titles in the Top 50,three of them in the Top 10. Whitney: The Greatest Hits is at No. 2 with 112,000 sales; the soundtrack to her film The Bodyguard rises to No. 5 with 43,000; and her debut,Whitney Houston,falls one to No. 10 with 25,000. Her most recent album,I Look to You,from 2009,just missed the Top 10 at No. 13.

Kayne West resumed where he left off his fashion career,last week,after a debut collection that was a critical flop. At Paris Fashion week,he presented a spectacle of slinky dresses,leather pants that didn’t quite fit,broadtail stretch pants,some souped-up go-karts and Kim Kardashian. Kardashian was sitting in the front row at West’s showing,along with Alicia Keys,and Azealia Banks—that gives some idea of the target customer he has in mind. The clothes were so loud. It started with a series of tough-looking black leather and suede outfits based off of a motorcycle jacket. And it ended with go-karts spinning around two tracks on either side of the runway.
