Hooda hits out at detractors in party, INLD at Bawal rally

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday took on both the detractors in his party and the members of Opposition and said that he was "responsible for development of the area and not of any individual".

Without naming union Minister Kumari Selja he said the state government was giving equal treatment to all the areas of the state.

He was speaking at a rally in Bawal, a constituency represented by INLD candidate. Bawal falls under Gurgaon district, which is also represented in Lok Sabha by Hooda's known detractor and Congress leader Rao Inderjit Singh. The Gurgaon MP too had recently alleged that the Bawal area had been neglected for the past eight years, indirectly hitting out at Hooda, who has been serving as the CM for the past almost eight years.

Hooda, without naming his detractors, said he does not need permission from anyone to visit Bawal.

"I belong to Bawal and Bawal belongs to me...I belong to Rewari, Rewari belongs to me," he said.

Ironically, he had earlier been at the loggerheads with Power Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav who belongs to Rewari and had accused him of ignoring the constituency.

Hooda said that any it is the duty of the representative of the people, might he be an MLA, MP or even a 'sarpanch', it is his duty to raise issues of the people of the area at appropriate platform.

The people can check records of such issues, if they have been raised, he said.

Hooda said that six-time Congress legislator and Rewari MLA, Ajay Singh Yadav, had always pressed him to meet the demands of the area. "Even today, he (Ajay), has asked for setting up of a University, which I would surely consider," he said.
