Hooda hoists NCRs highest Tricolour

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda hoisted the National Flag on a 101-foot high pole,claimed to be the highest in the NCR,at Leisure Valley Park in Gurgaon on Sunday....

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda hoisted the National Flag on a 101-foot high pole,claimed to be the highest in the NCR,at Leisure Valley Park in Gurgaon on Sunday. The waterproof flag installed by the Flag Foundation of India at the cost of Rs 4.5 lakh is bigger than the Tricolour hoisted at Rashtrapati Bhawan,Parliament Street and even Red Fort, a government official said.

The pole weighs 1.5 tonne,its circumference at the base is 430 cm while at the top it is 110 cm. MP Naveen Jindal,who is the founder-president of FFI,said efforts were on to hoist the National Flag at a height of 73 metre in Delhi before the Commonwealth Games.
