Thousands of students appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) Class XII examination in the state received incomplete mathematics question papers on Monday.
In the 100 marks mathematics paper,Sets A and C had questions adding up to only 94 marks each. While the other two sets B and D had questions for 100 marks each.
According to some students, they realised the anomaly only towards the end of the exam.
We have not been given any information in the matter by the board. However,we hope that the children would be compensated for this. It appears that few questions on the last page have not been printed, said Malini Bhagat,Principal of the Mahadevi Birla HS School for Girls.
The CBSE comes with different sets of question papers where questions are jumbled up to prevent students from copying.
About 10,000 students from nearly 100 schools are appearing for the CBSE Class XII examination in Bengal this year.
Some students, meanwhile, claimed that a few questions were out of the syllabus.
Examination Secretary of the HS council Moloy Ray,however, said that the questions which are said to be out of the syllabus were very basic questions which the students are expected to know.
