Former finance minister Manpreet Badal claimed to be witnessing a rising discontentment against the system as he was interacting with the masses at different places. His Jago Punjab Yatra reached Fatehgarh Churian in Gurdaspur, the constituency of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon,on Sunday and drew a huge response.
Manpreet said he was overwhelmed by the turnout of people who listened to the expelled SAD legislator speak on the issues of economy, unemployment, corruption and drugs proliferation in the state.
Manpreet addressed a number of public meetings on Sunday, including two big ones at Fathegarh Churian and Kalanaur. As I am on a Jago Punjab mission,I find the common man fed up with the corrupt system with no vision in sight where the state is heading to. They see a ray of hope in my agenda and I am happy that I can connect well with the public, he said, adding that drastic steps were required to root out corruption from the system.
Unemployment, drugs, lack of development, deteriorating law and order all are linked to corruption, which is not allowing any department to function properly, said Manpreet, calling the administrative reforms of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal as flimsy.
