Human trafficking racket busted; three held from IGI

The arrests were made after a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel caught a passenger carrying forged security stamps of the Bureau of Immigration and Air India,minutes before he was to board a flight to Canada on Saturday night,officials said.

According to a senior CISF official,“Around 11.15 pm,while frisking Kulwant Singh (46),the CISF screener noticed a bulge in his pocket. When asked to produce the items,five rubber stamps,one belonging to the Bureau of Immigration and four to the security staff of Air India were retrieved. Singh was unable to give a satisfactory reply as to why he was in possession of the same.”

The security wings of the Bureau of Immigration and Air India inspected the stamps,and found them to be “forged and fabricated”,the official said.

On questioning,Singh told the CISF personnel that two of his associates,Raj Kumar and Dalvinder Singh Lidhar,had already cleared their security checks and were waiting to board the flight,police said.

Singh claimed that Lidhar had promised him a job in Canada,for which he paid Rs 20 lakh. He also said it was Lidhar who handed over the five forged stamps to him in a restroom just before the security check .

The Delhi Police has arrested the three and booked them under sections 420 (cheating),468 (forgery),471 (use of forged document as genuine) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
