To everyone’s surprise it was low-key Modi as he addressed a pubic meeting at Jasdan on Tuesday a day after the results of Assembly bypolls.
Clad in peach coloured kurta and a turban, the Chief Minister said there was no truth in allegations that he ruled the party in an autocratic way.
He said, “BJP party is run on ideology and collected efforts of workers. I am nothing more than a common worker’’.
At Jasdan, BJP’s Bharat Boghra defeated Congress candidate Bhavna Bavalia, daughter of the former MLA Kunvarji Bavalia, by over 14,000 votes.
The BJP has not been able to win the constituency dominate by Kolis since independence despite the fact that constituency falls under saffron bastion of Rajkot district.
Modi said, “Jasdan has got independence for the first time.”
From Jasdan, Modi left for Chotila, another constituency his party wrested from Congress in Saurashtra region.
“The credit goes to voters, workers and the development path that has been pursued by the people of Gujarat,” said Modi.
Modi here said the results have shattered the myth about his dictatorial way of functioning.
He said, “Modi vina BJP ma pandlu pan nathi haltu. Aa pariname bataviyu che ka pandlu bhale na haltu hoi, pan BJP na karyakaro aakhe aakha jad halavi de che. (In BJP, even a leaf can’t move without Modi’s wish. But the results have proved that BJP workers can move the roots of the tree.)
Modi then came down heavily on political pundits for making wrong predictions about the poll outcome.
