Rohan Sippy has a quiet wedding; even best bud Abhishek Bachchan doesn’t make it

When most from the industry are happy to let out bits and bobs about their private affairs, maintaining a pseudo elusive air about them, Rohan Sippy offers some relief. Not many knew of his romance with line producer Roopa De Choudhury, fewer were invited to his wedding reception at Tote, on an unsuspecting Monday night.

Rahul Akerkar’s (he actually wore a suit) fabulous new restaurant and banquet was dressed up with fairy lights, as the quiet and elegant evening progressed. Rohan wore a black velvet Etro jacket, while Roopa picked up a pretty orange sari from Ensemble.

Among Rohan’s movie-world friends were Katrina Kaif, who seriously stopped the show in a black and white number, Priyanka Chopra in a sequined kurta and Ritiesh Deshmukh, a good friend of the groom’s. Best bud Abhishek Bachchan missed his flight from Goa (Sippy typically gave everyone a week’s notice), but Aishwarya Rai, in a red traditional sari, more than made up for her husband’s absence. Since the Bachchan Seniors were away in London, Ash came with her mum Brinda Rai, and happily shook a leg to Kajra re with the bride and groom.

Rohan’s sister Sheena Sippy smiled endlessly, as did their mum Geeta and dad Ramesh Sippy. Shunali Shroff dressed it up with a sequined sari from Aarti Talwar. Dinesh and Minal Vazirani sampled the tasty fare, while Kiran Juneja took care of her guests from the television industry.
