A Hyderabad mother of two, Meenakshi Agrawal, has written 118 symbols of a periodic table of chemistry in a world record time of 91.65 seconds.
The periodic table is considered the heart of chemistry, and with the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and UNESCO declaring 2011 as the year to celebrate achievements in chemistry, Agrawal wanted to do something that was not only simple, but also something that would motivate others without causing financial hardship. As it turned out, it also became something of international significance.
Agrawal has contacted the Guinness World Records organisation and the Limca Book of Records.
She is a science graduate and a post-graduate in economics. She is currently a lecturer in the Ginni Devi Modi P G College in Hyderabad.
