Hyderabad to host climate change meet

A 3-day climate change conference will take place in Hyderabad in October in which various countries,organisations and companies will participate and exchange ideas for combating the global issue.

A 3-day climate change conference will take place in Hyderabad in October in which various countries,organisations and companies will participate and exchange ideas for combating the global issue.

The International Conclave and Exhibition on Climate Change (ICCC) will take place in Hyderabad from October 12 to 14,said Cdr A K Poothia (Retd),the event organising committee chairman,on Thursday.

Themed ‘Clean Energy and Energy Security’,the conference is being held under the aegis of the Center for Climate Change,Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) .

Dr. Shalini Sharma,head of the Center for Climate Change,ESCI,introduced the goals for the ICCC at the Institute of Engineering.

She said,“The expected outcome are not only to gain knowledge about efforts of India for achieving green growth but identifying the requirements for this,providing inputs to decision makers for implementing effective policies for green GDP in India,and creating awareness among professionals and about natural ways of living.

She added that the deliberations held at the ICCC could provide inputs for other international climate conferences,such as the COP17,which will take place in Durban in November,2011 or Rio+20,which is planned for May,2012.
