    Among others who’ve been impressed by the team’s sudden transformation is Kevin Pietersen. Owner Vijay Mallya proudly displayed a text message sent by the Englishman after the team’s win over Punjab. “Yes, Yes. Well done you beauties. I have been screaming London down,” it said.

    Against Mumbai on Sunday, when the team was cruising, Kumble was cheering aloud from the dugout. “You have to be animated (in celebrations), otherwise they will call me old,” the 37-year-old said with a smile. In this IPL, that may well be a compliment.
