I am humbled: Menon

Shivshankar Menon,who was appointed the National Security Adviser,tonight said he was 'humbled' by the big responsibility bestowed on him and would do his best in the new job.

Shivshankar Menon,who was appointed the National Security Adviser,tonight said he was “humbled” by the big responsibility bestowed on him and would do his best in the new job.

“Well,I am humbled and very conscious that it is a big responsibility and I will do my best,” he said in his first reaction after being appointed to the coveted post.

“For rest of the substance,I think you will have to let me take over,” Menon said.

The career diplomat,who had served as Foreign Secretary till July last year,said he would have to learn his work in the new job.

Menon succeeds M K Narayanan who has been appointed as West Bengal Governor.
