Amid all the noise about Steven Dias and NP Pradeep revolting against Mahindra United, and refusing to play for the country as well, Pradeep insists that he’s not considering quitting football altogether.
“Playing for the country is a big honour and I’m not considering hanging up my boots irrespective of what happens here,” he told The Indian Express on phone on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai club’s coach, Derrick Periera, made it clear that both players were staying with them.
“Both these players signed two-year contracts with us. They are going to remain with us. Some club offered them a huge amount of money, so they got somewhat off-track,” Derrick said.
Pradeep further said: “It was my decision not to play in the Durand Cup as I wanted the issue to be resolved. I will meet the club president on Monday and will then take a final call. I’ve been playing for so long and I deserve a salary hike.”
