IBM India has opened a branch office in Indore as a part of its geographic expansion initiative. IBM is currently focused on increasing its presence in smaller cities,and aims to establish footprint in over 40 cities in the country by 2013,it said. "By strengthening our presence in Madhya Pradesh region,we are able to offer the most advanced technologies and solutions to our local partners and clients," IBM South Asia Vice-president for General Business and Geographic Expansion,Nipun Mehrotra,said. IBM's existing customer base in the region includes food manufacturers like Sonic Biochem and Everfresh Bakeries,besides a textile manufacturing company such as Pratibha Syntex.
