IBM trainee stabbed to death

A twenty-one-year-old IBM trainee died after she was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon in Punes upscale Bhavdhan area on Friday. Police suspect it to be a case of one sided love.

According to the police,Darshana Devidas Tongare was attacked on her way back home from her office in Yerawada. She was dropped by her friend Abhijeet Taru near her house in Suvarna Park in Bavdhan. Soon after Taru left,Darshana was allegedly stabbed in the stomach. Hearing her cries for help a passer-by,Niranjan Vadde (24),rushed to the spot. Vadde chased the assailant on his bike upto Maratha Mandir office before the assailant disappeared in the narrow alleys, police said.

By then Darshana had called Taru on his cellphone and informed him about the attack. By the time he could reach the spot,local residents had taken her to a private hospital. She was later shifted to Sahyadri Hospital in Kothrud. We have even recorded her statement. She died of severe internal bleeding at 11.30 pm, said Nandkishor Bhosle Patil,Inspector at Hinjewadi police station,who is investigating the case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dnyaneshwar Chavan said,There was also no intent of robbery. Prima facie it looks like a case of a one-sided love.
