A local court on Saturday remanded all the 17 Shiv Sena members, arrested for attacking the IBN-Lokmat Marathi news channel office, to police custody till November 23.

The 17 were produced before the Vikhroli metropolitan magistrate, which remanded them to two day police custody.

All the accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including attempt to murder, outraging the modesty of women and assault.

The police had today sought the custody of the arrested accused in order to investigate under whose behest they were acting and who had instigated the attack.

The police has named Sunil Raut, brother of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut as a wanted and prime accused in the case.

Suspected Shiv Sena activists yesterday vandalised the offices of the Marathi news channel in Mumbai and Pune and assaulted staff members including journalists for carrying reports that allegedly showed Bal Thackeray in bad light.

IBN-Lokmat AttackBy: S.N.hebbar | 22-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Last Week there was hooligalism by Muslim League men in Kasaragod, Kerala for two days resulting in police firing with deaths and huge loss of public property. But no headlines in IBN. Last year Muslim fanatics attacked Statesman office in Kolkatta and IBN and other News Channels forgot press freedom! Two weeks ago there was small theft in a small church near Bangalore and it was headlines in Karnataka News Channels and newspapers. Two days ago a Hindu Mutt and and a Temple was burgled and lakhs worth ornaments stolen at Shimoga, the native district of CM. But no news and no headlines. No condemnations, no panel discussions! Is it because the thugs involved in such cases did not belong to SS/RSS/BJP? I appeal to hindus to boycott news channels like IBN which gleefully wilify anything or anyone connected with hindu views but keep mum to situations advantageous to hindus.
Nitin Wagle is not exactly unbiasedBy: Madhu Chavan | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward I am a Maharshtrian and i condemn the attack wholeheartedly. But Nitin Wagle has been a very aggressive and, at times, quite biased journalist as his interviews and panel discussions show.
CHANNELS RESPONSIBLEBy: N.ASTI | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Media channels like CNN-IBN,NDTV,TIMES NOW,as well as some print Media should change their permanent Pro-Congress and Anti-SS/BJP attitude and come to sense to give unbiased news, keeping away their hidden interest. If they continue their Anti-Hindu attitude, they will also be responsible for such hateful violence incidences.Govt. should also tackle these sold out media in the interest of the National integration.
jaise ko taisaBy: Amit | 22-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward and what about aaj tak,ZEE News supporting BJP/SS in 1995-2000 .i think you are shivsainik or a BJP who wre amont those who attacked the decent maharashrtians of this news channel
Is IBN neutral media?By: Raaghunath | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward IBN7 is perhaps the most biased news channel in the country. There are number of news channel in the country, but they are not disturbed any elements. The act of IBN seems to please some particular political party and leaders. There are hundreds burning issues before the country apart from corruption, price rise, poverty and national security and so on. But the IBN wastes maximum times with the affairs of Siva sena, MNS and maharashtra.Beyond that they cover some crime news of NCR. They should give some place for north India, North East and beyond as a neutral watchdog and give up their biased reporting.
RING LEADER SPARED?????By: dv sharma | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Why the ring leader was left and not arrested for attack on Media.
