Silver and gold jewellery, which adorned the idol of the Sitala mandir at 1/2, Durgacharan Mukherjee Lane in Bagbazar was found missing when the pandit of the temple came in the morning today. “There is not much security inside or outside the temple, which is quite old. We suspect the miscreants carried out the loot early in the morning and thus went unnoticed,” said a senior officer of Shyampukur police station.
