City cueist in main draw of national C'ship
CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh cueist Rajat Khaneja entered the main draw of the PJ Hindu Gymkhana National 6-Red snooker championship being held in Mumbai. Khaneja rallied from a 0-3 deficit to surge to a creditable 22-42, 17-28, 30-38, 40-10, 36-9, 41-32, 42-13 win over Nikhil Pise of Karnataka. Aman Goel of Haryana and Manjot Singh of Punjab also registered victories.
Kudos enter semifinals
CHANDIGARH: Top scorer Hussain (56) helped Kudos Chemie Ltd register an easy nine-wicket victory over Authorgen Technologies as the team entered the semi-finals of the CII KC Royal Park Corporate cricket tournament at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, on Saturday. Batting first, Authorgen were all out for 126 in 18.4 overs. Satpal top scored with 56 runs. Kudos achieved the target for the loss of one wicket in 12.1 overs. In another match, Dabur defeated KC Group by seven wickets.
Sikka steers CCA-19 to victory
CHANDIGARH: Aayush Sikka's unbeaten half-century (72) steered CCA-19 to an easy 75-run victory over BTS-48 in a match of the Under-14 Friendship Series played on Saturday. CCA-19 batted first and posted 147 for 3 in 30 overs. Sikka was in sublime touch and played some good shots during his knock. Chasing the target, BTS-48 were all out for 72 in 19 overs. Noor remained unbeaten on 24. Aman Dabral and Prince grabbed two wickets each.
Muskaan, Ishita champions
CHANDIGARH: Muskaan Sohi and Ishita won the junior and sub-junior titles respectively in the CESA All Girls badminton championship held at Carmel Convent School, Sector 9. In the junior categoy, Kailash and Daaman Sharma finished second and third respectively, while Garima Singh and Palak Sehgal bagged the second and third spots respectively, in the championship.
