Ganai says his son was a bright student. "My son brought laurels to his school," says Gania. To keep Sartaj's memory alive, Ganai has kept two of his pictures in his pocket notebook.
The family filed a report with the State Human Rights Commission and a petition with the J-K High Court. "Nobody is trying to bail us out," says Ganai, who has now joined the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP).
