National president of the Bharatiya Janshakti Party, Uma Bharti, said that if former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh expresses his desire to work on the Ram Mandir issue once again, she will welcome him.
Bharti, who has recently written to senior leaders of the NDA wishing to be a part of the alliance, said that if Singh is repenting his decision of going with the Samajwadi Party, then God will surely forgive him.
According to Bharti, the Ram Mandir issue had catapulted Singh to the seat of the UP chief minister. Bharti, who was in Lucknow to meet her party workers, also met Singh at his residence on Tuesday. “I have known Kalyan Singh for the last many years and he is like my elder brother. Today, he has realised the mistake of going with the SP. He is repenting his decision,” Bharti said. “He has announced his will to work on issues like the Ram Mandir. I will surely welcome him if he decides to do so as the Ram Mandir issue is very close to me,” she added.
The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister said she is ready to extend all support to Singh. “Even when I was campaigning for the BJP and he was supporting the SP, I never went to campaign against him in his constituency. I respect him and am happy to see him supporting the Ram Mandir issue once again,” Bharti said.
Singh, who called Bharti his little sister, said: “Ram Mandir is an issue close to our hearts and I will ensure that it is constructed. My main aim now is to strengthen the issue and see it is construction before my death.”
