P Chidambaram said possible goof-up in sending identical DNA reports of terrorists involved in 26/11 attack was a 'minor clerical error'.

He also ruled out setting up a commission of inquiry into the 26/11 attack.

"This is a minor clerical error which can be corrected. Kasab is still alive. His DNA can be taken again while a dead man's DNA is required only to know who the father or mother is," he said.

While Kasab is the lone gunman captured alive in the 26/11 attack, Ismail was among the nine terrorists killed in the operation by commandos.

The media reports had said that in a dossier sent to Pakistan the DNA reports of arrested terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Kasab and the slain terrorist Abu Ismail were identical.

DNA reports of both Ismail and Kasab are with the Mumbai police, Chidambaram said, adding that there was no need for commission of enquiry for 26/11 attack.

If Pak can't investigate, let FBI or India do it: ChidambaramBy: Javed Khan | 17-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Ofcourse, the Pakis cannot investigate. All of us know that it is the Scotland Yard that is investigating Benazir Bhutto's assassination. With Army officers and the ISI involved how can the present or for that matter any Pakistani Government investigate this matter ?Congress I leaders are also brainless idiots to assume that this time Pakistan will deliver
No selfrespectBy: Abdul | 16-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Indian HM is a Joke now.We need a third party (FBI) to investigate our Internal matters. These Congress people has no selfrespect left and the people who will vote for Congress are the same.Hope Indians will learn some lesson and throw out Congress after these polls.
One more goof upBy: Devendra Patel | 16-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Congress is known for goof up (deliberate). It says it goofed up in Ramsethu case (non existence of Ram)
"Secular" Govt.By: J. Jayaraman | 16-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Everyone knows about the "secular" parties, "secular" newapapers and anything so called "secular". All these "secular" people have one thing in common - appeastment of certain communities. There can be no doubt that the goof up might have been created surely by these so-called secularists to secure their vote banks. Have these secularists ever cared for India. For e.g. nuclear energy - a Muslim country has already received equipement for Nuclear Energy and yet in India the appeasers to seek particular community votes were against nuclear energy. So much for the truth and secularism.
The Capacity to think clearly!By: Ronald D'Souza | 16-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward DNA is not something like a letter but a large complex series of cell arrangements that make no sense to anyone except a professional. I see no major issue arising from this 'clerical error' not being spotted because it is not something apparent on the face of it. Therefore those who are making this a big deal are really lacking in knowledge of DNA mapping. Those who are running down this explanation are Pakis who stand by their country come what may and have brought it to this sad state of affairs unlike India which has a robust public opinion and can see the right and wrong of a case or once again our RSS cadres who do not believe anything if it does not come from 'The Organiser'. The commonality is the lack of capacity to make a fair assessment.
