Amar Singh has several Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt supporting him.

Apparently peeved at the importance being meted out by the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to party colleague Azam Khan, the Samajwadi party General Secretary Amar Singh said on Tuesday that Khan was a bigger leader than him due to which his "anti-party" activities were being ignored.

"Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) has asked me personally not to make any statements against Azam, who has opened a front against party nominee from Rampur Jaya Prada and also making anti-party remarks", Amar Singh told reporters while replying to a question in Lucknow.

"Azam is more close to Mulayam than me", Singh said. When asked if the situation was bad enough for him to consider leaving the SP also, Singh said, "If I do not have an affection with the party and its chief, I would have considered it".

"SP can live without me... but not without Azam", he said adding that "to survive in SP, you have to tolerate Azam," said Singh who has several Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt supporting him.

Amar should know better !By: SauPa | 10-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward There is a simple rule of politics with Secular parties. Minority Appeasement. Amar feels bad today when it hurts him. But does not care how much this hurts the nation.
'Ignored' Amar Singh hints at quitting SPBy: Javed Khan | 09-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward This Azam Khan must be really a very great man. Even Amar Singh who is a master manipulator has acknowledged defeat at his hands.
Azam vs. AmarBy: J.M.Manchanda | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward The internal struggle for power within SP hardly concerns others since it has neither any ideologial overtones not bodes good or evil for the nation. It just does not matter whether Azam Khan or Amar Singh carries more weight in S.P. Both the A's have their special points-one ensures Muslim support and the other adds glam factor.Mulayam evidently needs both and hence plays a mediator.
Chameleon of PoliticsBy: Varind | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Mr.Amar Singh is a Chameleon (Girgit) of Indian Politics. It appears he habitual in Spitting and licking and past master in lowering the standard of Indian Politics. Except consistently being with big B, he is never consistent in politics.
