  • Neither age nor the disappointment of missing out on a medal in Beijing has diminished Akhil Kumar’s hunger for Olympic gold, and the Bhiwani boxer has made it clear that he will make another attempt for it at the London Games. “Make no mistake, I will be there for London (Olympics). I have the motivation and I am very confident of being fit enough for the 2012 Olympics,” said the 27-year-old.

Akhil lost to unheralded Veaceslav Gojan of Moldova to miss out on a medal, but he says he has moved on, “Yes it was heartbreaking. But it is behind me and I have to refocus.”
