He also said "that BCCI should take some strict action against this as such statements are needless and can affect the morale and spirit of the whole squad".

Ganguly at faultBy: Sujit | 10-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward The only fault of Ganguly is that he has no Kar to end his surname. In Indian cricket, there is different tretment for Kar-walas and non-karwalas. This is true now and in the past also when player like mohinder amrnath was humiliated due to only this reason. Becoz of this Tendulkar can go way with failure after failure even bothering to think of retirement.
SachinBy: Hemant | 10-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward I have nothing against Sachin, but he is way past his prime too... I don't remember the last time he made a solid contribution to the team. He has been keeping one slot in the team locked up for more than a decade now. Atleast Ganguly did not quit the captaincy like Sachin. Vengsarkar should take responsibility for all the politics that he indulged in as the selector and stop threatning players who have contributed much more than him to Indian cricket.
Vengsarkar's commentsBy: Prathap Chithapuram | 10-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward I am with Vengsarkar on this one. Was he perfect? No. Was the selection comittee under him perfect? No. No one is perfect. But for Sourav to say that the selection committee was after him is ridiculous. People say that he was out of form for only one series and that is not correct. Look at his past 2 years of performance (i.e. not just batting. even though it makes up the most). He played only good in one or two series (including ODIs). Was he the only one with poor performance, absolutely. They should have dropped Rahul, Sachin and Kumble. But if Sachin is dropped, then Mumbhai will be on fire. If people can get killed and bus can be put on fire for Dada's dropping, then imagine what will happen if Sachin is dropped. That is the country we live in. So, in short, the selection committee has a lot of other influences and requests that it has to take into consideration during the selection process. Is that correct?. No. Ask players like Badrinath and others from yester years.
Inconsistent selectorsBy: Aravind | 10-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward There's no denying the fact that players ability and performance alone are of no relevance in Indian cricket if he is not well connected. How can undeserving cricketers find a place in the squad if cricket alone is selection criteria.
GangulyBy: Frustrated Indian | 10-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward What reply will u give Vengy...you have been unscupulous and biased towards others like Sachin, etc. Stop shouting after committing such abuse of powers...they say " the mother of the thief has the loudest voice"...
