I’m ready to do anything for ‘Marathi manoos’: Raj

MNS chief Raj Thackeray said whenever he talks in interest of Maharashtra, Govt bans his speeches but does nothing to stop those who openly insult Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday said he was not “afraid” of fighting for the sons-of-the-soil issue and was ready to do anything for the “Marathi manoos.”

“I am emotionally attached with this issue. And no one is allowed to play with our emotions,” Thackeray said while addressing a party workers meet in Amravati.

Thackeray also appealed them not to allow migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to settle down in Amravati as it is not in larger interest of the state.

“People from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are trying to settle in all parts of Maharashtra. It is dangerous,” he said.

“Whenever I talk in the interest of Maharashtra, the Government bans my speeches but does nothing to stop those who openly insult Maharashtra,” Thackeray said.

Regarding actor Jaya Bachchan, who recently was at the receiving end of MNS’s ire after her remark that ‘she is from UP and hence would speak in Hindi only,’ Raj wondered how come she did not know who he was.

“How is it possible that people living in Maharashtra do not know Maharashtrians,” he said adding, “My Marathi love is not a stunt and if anybody thinks so, I do not care. I am Marathi and I am proud about it.”
