Mumbai police claimed to have cracked terror e-mail case, arresting 15 persons for their alleged involvement in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Surat and Bangalore blasts.

Those arrested include Mohammad Azghar (31), Mohammad Shaikh (24) and Asif Bashiruddin Shaikh (22). Police says these men visited Mumbai in July to conduct a survey on possible targets.

The key suspect worked for several years with an MNC, earning an estimated annual salary of Rs 19 lakhs, police sources say

With these arrests, the total number of people held by Mumbai police in connection with the blasts went up to 20. Some other persons were also said to have links with blasts that have occurred since 2005.

However, the police are yet to arrest Riyaz Bhatkal alias Roshan Khan, the founder-member of Indian Mujahideen (IM) which is suspected to be behind the blasts in different cities in recent months. The police have recovered explosives and arms besides laptops, pen drives from the arrested persons.

Amar Singh going Cooccoo.By: Ramesh Gopisetty | 07-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Amitabh Bacchan, Jaya Bhaduri, jaya prada should quit Samajvadhi Party in view of amar singh's defending the TRAITORS of our Country. Enough is enough all Indians should boycott Amar Singh, Mulayam Singh, Ram Vilas Paswan, Lallu and the likes.
Hold On !!!By: KK | 07-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward whoa whoa whoa before jumping into any funny conclusions first take a deep breath. Not that i'm against terrorist crackdown but one just can't help wondering. Shivraj Patil had immense pressure on himself for doing nothing after the regular blasts. Who knows this might be just a hogwash. After few days we might hear that all these people nabbed were innocents. So let's not rush to judgement. Our intelligence agencies are well known for their incompetence. It's better to wait and watch.

Suspect is not equal to terrorist. Where's a court of law, brothers? By: Ajay Pradhann | 06-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Lets bnear in mind that it is difficult for the police to solve one arushi murdrer case or saumya vishwanathan case. Lets remember this is the police's version only. These are "suspects" or "accused" and have not been convicted by a court. It is indeed telling that the finer details of these suspects are revealed by the police. One wonders if the police has taken up the cause of disintegrating india ot just along communal lines but also on other metrics siuch as class and caste. The State is indeed biased with no hopes for justice for those who do not 'belong' Victimise innocents as terrorists and those who could possibly be potential victims will automatically turn terrorists. Its a cycle, remember. Oh yeah, what's happening in Orissa and Mangalore, any updates?
