  • College staff hold gate rallies
    Non-teaching staff of aided colleges of the city on Monday held gate rallies from 10 am to 1pm in support of their demands. The call was given by the Private Colleges Non-teaching Employees Union, Punjab and Chandigarh. One such rally was held at Arya college, in which non-teaching staff union took part. The employees sought implementation of new pay scales, medical allowance from January 2006, 5% interim relief from November 1, 2006. The union said that another gate rally would be held on October 31 while a full day gate rally would be held on November 11.

    Seminar organised
    A seminar was conducted by Taxation Bar Association on limited liability partnership (LLP) in which president Harish Arora was the main speaker. He said that a new amendment had been done in this Budget which would be very useful for the private limited companies. If they formed LLP, the tax payment will be less, he said.
