  • Having fared better than their government school counterparts in the Class X examinations, students from various private schools are now making a beeline at the best government schools for admission to Class XI. And with good scores, they stand a better chance to make the cut.

This, however, has not gone down too well with the parents who have for years sent their children to government schools. Seeking some reservation for students from government schools, Manoharlal, a parent said, “Almost every year, students from private schools score over those from government schools and, therefore, they have a better chance of getting admissions. The Education department should devise a plan to help students who have studied for years in government schools.”

Some parents argued that those who have studied in ‘expensive’ private schools up to Class X should continue doing the same in Class XI and XII as well.

Another parent, Anuradha, said: “Parents who have sent their children to private schools can afford the expenses and should, therefore, leave government schools for us who belong to the average income group.”
