  • Praying or conversing with God not only helps in healing broken spirits, but also in knowing oneself better, as one tends to make confessions and think clearly about mistakes, worries, ambitions and desires

Twenty six-year-old Shruti Mehra goes to the park whenever she feels the need to be alone or quiet. But unlike many, who do the same for nature's company or to destress, she finds is an apt way of conversing with God. "Some people read, or go to a religious place and sit there and look for peace and solitude. I choose to speak to god directly and I derive a lot of peace from it. Its not only when I am lonely that I talk to God but I usually speak out my heart whenever I need advice about anything," she adds.

People look to pray to God in times of despair and difficulty or when they are in need of something, but for a certain chosen few spending a little quality time alone speaking their heart out to God is the way to go. Not only do they find immense peace but also find the solutions to their problems themselves.

Mehra has company, when it comes to talking to God, as 18-year-old Akhil Matthew, also believes and practices that. He says, "Be it problems regarding academics or anything that's personal I don't feel shy or funny to admit that I speak to God. In doing so I usually find the answers to my problems myself. The process really works because when you let it all out your own thoughts, which are muddled, clear out and you get space to think out the problem in a logical fashion."

    ... contd.
