The Delhi Development Authority is likely to begin allotment of the 5,238 flats in the stalled Housing Scheme ’08, by the first week of October.
“A report from the Centre of Development for Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is expected by September 21,” said Neemo Dhar, Director, Public Relations, DDA. “After that, we will have to wait for the Economic Offences Wing to send its final report. We can start the allotment procedure once that report is in.”
While the DDA officials steered clear of saying exactly when the allotment procedure would begin, a senior official told Newsline: “The EOW is most likely to wind up its investigation within 10 days once they receive the C-DAC report. If that is the case, we will be able to start allotment by the first week of October.”
The EOW had earlier sent a copy of the software used by DDA during the draw held in December to the Government Examiner of Questionable Documents (GEQD) in Hyderabad to seek an expert opinion.
Asked if the DDA got a ‘clean-chit’, a senior EOW official said: “The GEQD conveyed to us that they were unable to analyse certain portions of the software. We, therefore, decided to send it to C-DAC as they have superior technical knowledge in these matters.”
The official refused to say exactly when the EOW will be able to wind up its investigation.
“We are awaiting a final expert opinion on the software,” he said. “We have requested the C-DAC to expedite its report and once we get that, further steps will be taken on basis of its contents.”
