Colourful tights became a rage with young girls after Blair Waldorf and her friends in Gossip Girl sported them. Singers Pink and Avril Lavigne have also been spotted in colourful tights in purple and pink. Closer home, Manish Arora used stockings in psychedelic colours recently at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Pick from bright pink (like in designer Zac Posen’s collection), purple and green stockings or go the Manish Arora way by mixing it all up. “It’s an easy way to make an otherwise simple outfit look funky,” says designer Nandita Mahtani. The stockings shouldn't clash with your outfit and not match either. Coloured stockings look best with plain, bold colours such as black.
