In the Groove

It has been a while since one heard Jasbir Jassi belt out a new number. After hits like Dil Laygayee Kudi Gujarat Di,Ek Gedha Giddhe Vich Hor,Channo and Nishani Yaar Di,Jassi is Back with a Bang— the title of his latest album. Jassi is obviously enthusiastic. “We’ve worked very hard on it and I have tried to fuse a lot of international flavours and sound into it,” says Jassi as he takes a seat at Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd’s Big FM in Manimajra. With nine tracks in total,the album is a mix of classical,traditional,folk,Sufi,pop,hip hop and fusion. “Our team had international musicians,writers and composer. So,it’s my words and their tunes,” says Jassi who has also sung for the recently released film Mel Karade Rabba. Next,he will be seen as the main lead in another Punjabi film called Khushiyan.
