Apart from golf, farming is another passion that keeps Jesse Grewal, a Class-A teaching professional certified by the Indian Golf Union, busy.

A graduate in botany, Grewal took to farming after an eight-year long stay in the tea gardens of Assam.

The coach, who has trained golfers like Gurbazz Mann, Irina Brar, Rahul Bakshi and Gaganjeet Bhullar, owns a farm in Sisswan village near Chandigarh and often undertakes vermiculture and other activities there.

Grewal travels to his farm twice a week and is often accompanied by his son.

“Farming is one activity which comes to me naturally. After I stayed in Assam for eight years for some official work, I turned my attention to golf coaching. Soon, farming became a habit and visiting my farm has now become my favourite pastime,” says Grewal.

The renowned coach also believes that farming works as a motivation for him apart from helping him cope with the pressures of every day life.

Grewal says he prefers to do all the work on his own and there are only a few caretakers at the farm.

“Right from the beginning, I was very particular that I didn’t need too many people at the farm. I love maintaining my farm on my own as it gives me a chance to relax. As a golf coach, I spend most of my time at the golf course. The only two days when I am not working are spent on the farm,” smiles Grewal.
