  • In a bid to cash in on the ongoing disruption of Air India flights in wake of the agitation launched by the carrier’s executive pilots, Indian Railways has decided to open temporary “Passenger Reservation” booths and “May I Help You” booths at all major airports across the country.

The Railways ministry has also directed its officials to coordinate with Air India officials asking them to guide passengers affected by the agitation about using the railway travelling option.

Railways has also asked the Zonal Railways to widely publicize the vacant berths available in various trains.

wonder, railways have woken up to public demandsBy: l.C.Bilandani | 30-Sep-2009 Reply | Forward Really great, never heard for such an innovative idea from railways. If only this stragety is adopted,Indian Railways will win praise from one and all. Now they are only advertising vaccant positions on airports but I suggest they go ahead 1 step ahead and attach 1 A/C coach to every important train where disruptions have taken place, and that will be the master stroke to make a fast buck.Whoever has thought of this deserves praise and pat from Mamta. Are u listening mamtajee? Yes forget west bengal for a while and reward these innovative ideas and earn more and more. The instant reservation to the travelling public is a very good idea indeep at the airports.Similarly start manufacturing coaches for the Metro trains which are relying heavily on imports of Bombardiers and these can be manufactured at your closed or loss making workshops.Go ahead and save foriegn exchange.
